“Zero chance of rain today,” the weatherman said, yet we drove to the Mesa Verde with the wipers going full tilt! But it’s 23 miles from the park entrance to the cave dwelling we planned to visit and as we were told before, “If you don’t like the weather in Colorado, just wait 15 minutes.” And, sure enough, by the time we got to the Spruce Tree house the sun was blazing and the temperature was in the 80s.
Jo & Steve thank you for these amazing photos - travel guide book quality - I would love visit this place so extraordinary - to try and imagine the lives of such a community. Mmm maybe there's a book in it somewhere. Fantastic to see you guys having a swell time ...and Snodgrass is a place ...thought it was a local Dawlish toff - Oh sorry we don't have those, especially in August! Bye for now must blow dry my hair or I'll end up looking like your doppleganger!
